Emma Goldman considered her as the most gifted and brilliant anarchist woman America has ever produced.
Having become close to individualist anarchists, she advocated an anarchism without adjectives : I no longer call myself anything other than a simple anarchist.
In 1895, in a lecture on the sexual question, she declared to women : (...) Because of the prohibition that weighs upon us, its immediate consequences on our daily lives, the incredible mystery of sexuality and the terrible consequences of our ignorance about it.
On December 9, 1902, she survives Herman Helcher's assassination attempt.
She forgave him: It would be an outrage to civilization if he were sent to prison for an act that was the product of a sick mind.
In her lecture « Marriage is a Bad Deed »in 1907, she asserts, The marriage contract, imposing a promiscuity of souls and bodies, runs against love.
In the spring of 1911, Voltairine de Cleyre regained hope in change. Thanks to Ricardo Flores Magón, the most important Mexican anarchist of the time, according to historian Paul Avrich.
She gave lectures to explain the importance of international solidarity, raised funds to help the revolution, and became the Chicago correspondent for the Regeneración newspaper.
In her 1912 essay, De l'action directe, she points out that direct action has always been employed and enjoys the historical sanction of the very people who now repudiate it.
A poet, essayist, feminist pioneer and supporter of anarchism, Voltairine de Cleyre died of septic meningitis in Chicago on June 20, 1912.

Em 21 de janeiro de 1895, Itō Noe nasce na ilha de Kyushu. Se forma aos 16 anos na Escola Feminina Ueno de Tóquio.
Obrigada a um casamento arranjado, ela foge de casa.
Seu professor de inglês, o poeta libertário e tradutor de Stirner, Jun Tsuji, a acolhe. Ele apoiará Itō Noe na continuação de seus estudos. Casados, eles terão dois ﬂhos.
Em 1912, em Tóquio, ela frequenta os primeiros grupos feministas e colabora com a revista cultural Seitō (“Meia azul”).
Tradutora de A tragédia da emancipação feminina, de Emma Goldman, ela chama a atenção do anarquista Sakae Ōsugi, que conhece em setembro de 1914.
Itō Noe torna-se editora-chefe da Seitō em janeiro de 1915.
O jornal de Sakae Ōsugi Shimbun Heimin (“Jornal do Povo”) é proibido pela polícia. Itō Noe o defende em Seitō.
Os temas do aborto, maternidade e prostituição são abordados por Itō. Em fevereiro de 1916, ela encerra a publicação da Seitō, deixa Tsuji Jun para viver em união estável com Ōsugi Sakae. Já casado, ele também mantém um caso com a jornalista Ichiko Kamichika.
Ciumenta, Ichiko Kamichika esfaqueia Ōsugi na garganta. O caso causa um escândalo, e a esposa de Ōsugi se divorcia.
Ōsugi Sakae se recupera, o casal passa a viver juntos em uma casa, onde nasce seu primeiro flho em 1917.
A vigilância permanente da polícia obrigaos regularmente a mudar-se, tanto por razões fnanceiras como políticas.
Em 24 de abril de 1921, Itō Noe torna-se conselheira para a fundação da “Sociedade da Onda Vermelha”, a Sekirankai, a primeira associação socialista de mulheres japonesas.
Sekirankai desﬂa durante as reuniões políticas de 1º de maio de 1921. As militantes são presas. O artigo 5º da lei pública proíbe as mulheres de participarem de manifestações políticas.
Em outubro, elas participam da propaganda socialista voltada para exército. A organização é dissolvida pelo governo em dezembro, oito meses após sua criação.
Em 1 de setembro de 1923, o terremoto de Kanto, na ilha de Honshu, devasta Tóquio e Yokohama. São registrados 141.720 mortos. Apesar da declaração da Lei Marcial, o pânico e o caos causam a propagação de rumores absurdos. Na cidade, milícias populares matam residentes coreanos, chineses ou japoneses identifcados erroneamente como coreanos
As polícias militar (Kenpeitai) e civil (Tokkeitai) executam sumariamente militantes comunistas, socialistas e anarquistas por “ pensamentos perigosos”.
O “incidente de Amakasu” ocorre em 16 de setembro de 1923. Itō Noe, Ōsugi Sakae e seu sobrinho de seis anos são espancados até a morte e jogados em um poço pelo grupo Kenpeitai do tenente Amakasu.
Esses assassinatos contra anarquistas conhecidos e uma criança comovem e enfurecem os cidadãos japoneses.
Condenado a dez anos de prisão, Masahiko Amakasu cumprirá apenas três anos da sua pena.

Born on November 17, 1866, to an American woman and a French man from Lille who emigrated to the United States. He named his daughter Voltairine in honor of Voltaire.
Her parents divorced in 1880, and her father placed her in a convent. Upon her release, Voltairine became involved in the Freethinker movement.
Influenced by the writings of Thomas Payne and Mary Wollstonecraft, she gave lectures and wrote newspaper columns.
Following a bomb attack during the Haymarket Square Riot, on May 1^st, 1886, 8 anarchists were wrongly accused of it and four executed on November 11, 1887, causing Voltairine to become an anarchist.
In 1890, her essay Sexual Slavery was published. She condemned the beauty queens who encouraged women to distort their bodies, and the educational practices that molded children according to their gender.
Her son, Harry, was born on June 12, 1890. She never lived with the child's father, James B. Elliott, nor with any of her other lovers.

Néstor Makhno, nacido el 26 de octubre de 1888 en Gouliai-Polié (Ucrania) y fallecido en París el 25 de julio de 1934, fue un comunista anarquista y fundador del Ejército Revolucionario Insurgente Ucraniano que, tras la Revolución de Octubre y hasta 1921, combatió tanto al Ejército Blanco zarista como al Ejército Rojo bolchevique.
